This is the brand new, handmade leather sketchbook by W.L. Swarts.  Very close to being a first-quality sketchbook, it is only the rigorous quality standards of W.L. Swarts which make this considered a "factory second."  This is a slightly textured beige leather sketchbook with a painting of a rose by W.L. Swarts embedded in the front cover!  The artist's first attempt at this style of work, it came out with only a few wrinkles.  The painting has a slight smudge on the author's signature and on the inside cover the leaves which bind the cover to the textblock have some unsightly paper glued to it (this will probably come off with minimal wear, but the artist did not want to deal with it!).  As well, a few of the pages in the textblock may be stuck together and there is some glue on the back cover.  Finally, the spine is stuck to the text block.  Most of these problems will actually diminish as the book is worn, save the leaves being missized to the cover.
